Location and Behavior Patterns: House flies can be found anywhere in the world, except in extremely cold environments.  They are the most common type of fly.  They tend to breed in areas where there is a lot of manure, or even in piles of dog feces that can be found in your own backyard.  They are attracted to places that are usually unsanitary, such as; in garbage, on fermenting vegetation, or around pet food.

Because they often land on unsanitary surfaces, they can carry a lot of germs and bacteria, which can then spread easily to surfaces that are meant to be clean.  For this reason, it is important to clean areas, such as the kitchen counter, if you suspect that a House fly has landed there.  Additionally, you may wish to reconsider consuming foods that have attracted House flies.

Treatment:  The best way to keep House flies out of your home is to keep doors and windows shut as much as possible, and do not leave extra garbage or rotting fruits/vegetables laying around your kitchen.  If House flies are a significant problem, then contacting your professional pest control expert will be helpful.
